Summer Pack Trips – Yellowstone Park & The Absaroka Wilderness

Our Yellowstone pack trips are based out of our backcountry camp near Gardiner MT in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, which is the northern boundary of Yellowstone National Park. We are native to this area and have been outfitting guests for over 20 years. Our camp is situated so that you can ride into it and make it a base camp from which to explore. The camp is very comfortable, with canvas wall tents, wood stoves, cots and foam pads, as well as a primitive shower.

Our cowboys are capable and love to have fun. Our crew has worked for us from 5-20 years and they are the very best in the business. There’s nothing more satisfying than riding through beautiful country all day with spectacular views of Yellowstone National Park, having a wonderful meal, and then enjoying the campfire and good conversation while the sun goes down.

We can arrange exclusive trips, where you’re the only group in camp, or if you’d like to mix with other guests, we can accommodate you. Every group will always have their own guide, and we plan each day especially for you. The options are many; you can ride to high plateaus and watch large elk herds, hunt arrowheads, fish for cutthroat trout, which are plentiful in all of the lakes and rivers, swim horses in deep pools while riding bareback, or just relax and stay in camp with a good book.

Every morning after breakfast, you and your guide will decide which direction to go that day.

We have wonderful, family-style dining. Our cooks do all of the cooking on a wood stove with cast iron pans. We can accommodate different diet needs.

We have watched families transform over the years after a few days in camp. There’s no better therapy for a family than to be in the woods with no distractions, except the good , basic fun that our grandparents enjoyed.

Many of our clients return year after year, and we have many corporate clients, such as Toro, Lucent Technologies and Scentry Biologicals. They reward employees with a trip or forge bonds with clients.
